Summer Crush

Summer Crush

I think watermelon screams Summer, especially 4th of July, so fresh, sweet, cooling, and fun to eat. So what is better than taking that summer staple and making it an adult beverage?! There is watermelon in every level, actual chunks of watermelon, watermelon sparkling juice (a find at Trader Joe’s), and watermelon vodka. All that watermelon and some ice and maybe a sprig of basil for some aromatics and you have a gorgeous drink. Have little ones that love watermelon too? Just leave out that watermelon vodka and you will still have a yummy drink for the littles, put in a fun straw to be extra.

I was struggling with naming this drink so I consulted my two faves and J came up with Summer Crush. That is when we all decided it should be a blended frozen drink and it was a fabulous decision. I will be picking up some more watermelon juice this weekend to have for the 4th, because it will be hot as all heck and I need this to cool down with!

We did 5 oz of the watermelon vodka but you could totally bump it up to 6 oz since this makes 3 glasses.
